When we were a child, life was a straight line
There were no cuts and no holes and
Neither was their time for petty issues of life.
You would fall and get up easily;
Without a sign of bruise and pain to surround.
Every small thing would lead to happiness,
Doing school work was the top most priority
And fooling around with friends; the most interesting thought to hound.
Dancing in the rain, chasing the streets, making all types of sound
Talking about anything and nothing, chit chatting, challenging,
Falling and laughing, fighting for the most whacky
Day- dreaming, make-beliefs; it was all about imagination and creation.
But the time flies, speeding up the whole process of us inside.
Things change, complications begin;
Time for self introspection and analysis sprinkle.
The working of your mind change,
Thinking never stops throbbing
The heart never stops aching,
The straight line changes into a polygon
With so many ways to go that even choosing becomes troublesome.
You need to judge things and situations,
Make the right decision.
The bright sunshine is now over and
It’s always drizzling that hovers.
We are always in the search of that straight line
Which we left way behind.
We have questions but answers are always to be found.
Initially the side of coin was just for deciding
But now it’s a story with too many sides.
All this is like a whirlwind,
With no way out.
The chattering turns into silence,
The laughing into a crooked smile
We start wearing a mask,
Emotions and feelings are hidden in the beautiful laugh.
We sulk on our own, wipe off are tears,
Suddenly we are strong,
With all the courage to fight.
Still we never realize,
All this is a phase, which eventually
Will lead to again a path undefined.
